Description of Launch:
Elevated ramp - big and ugly (picture a steel dinosaur) was removed. Questionable if launch is still open. News anyone?
One or two wire crew are required on soarable days. Not for the faint of heart. An intimidating launch with Big Air.

Launch Road Directions:
On Highway #5 just north of Kamloops, take Paul Lake Road heading east towards Paul Lake, then branch north on Mount Lolo Road about 8 miles east. Continue on the pavement to just past the townsite then up the gravel road to the top of the mountain.
Times to Fly - afternoon
Soaring Information and Weather Notes:
For your HAGAR Canadian Airspace information, see: http://www3.telus.net/cschwab/viewer/ca ... space.html
Works particularly well when the valley is suffering from an inversion. Pay attention here. You can get caught low very quickly and easily.
Difficult launch. Iffy glide out for PGers.
Description of LZ:
A desolate hunk of cactus and cow dung on a neglected, but paved, air strip at about an 8/1 glide from launch.
Alternatives are directly west & north-west of decommissioned Mt. Lolo Service Base townsite about 3/1 glide from launch. Beware of wires! Check it out before landing here.
Other Information:
Class E Controlled Airspace above 700' AGL. Re-set your altimeter to the accurate launch altitude before flying.
Call Transport Canada Flight Services Station at 250-376-7941 prior to any XC flight near the Kamloops control zone. Fly around the 5 mile control zone, not through it.
FSS will require information about where you are flying from, where to, what time period, expected altitude and if you carry a radio.
