The alternate LAF west and south facing launches on Saddle Mt. launch (Lumby) is on private property and the gate is now locked. Access is restricted as by agreement with the landowner: it can only be flown when accompanied by a Lumby Air Force Pilot.

Directions to Launch:
This will be provided to you when you check in for your orientation and sign the LAF Waiver at Lumby's Freedom Flight Park on way to launch.
All pilots are required to show proof of HPAC Insurance and must sign the Lumby Air Force / Freedom Flight Park waiver.
A small annual visiting pilot donation to help with ongoing expenses and taxes would be much appreciated.
Again, all pilots are requested to stop by Freedom Flight Park before proceeding up to launch.

Times to Fly: All day. Early Morning until about 1 - 2 PM are best.

Soaring Information and Weather Notes:
House thermals are immediately to the left and right of launch depending on air flow.
Other house thermals near launch are on the south facing slope slightly back up the ravine given the right air flow.

Site Hazards:
Collapses and reserve deployments have occurred a km to the North West of launch when westerly flows in the main Okanagan Valley create Leeside conditions at Coopers.
Check the prevailing wind direction each day. Plans are in the works to improve the Paragliding Launch at the west facing Saddle Mt overlooking Freedom Flight Park

Coopers hosts three very popular events each year.
The Lumby Air Races the second weekend in June each year, The Wild Salmon Festival Fly-In the 3'd weekend in July each year and the Remembrance Day Fly-In.
