The 33'd Annual Remembrance Day Fly-In is a Spot Landing Event that occurs on the best weather forecast day
- either Nov 11th or the best weather day including the Saturday or Sunday; occasionally even the weekend before if need be. Stay Tuned!

It is hosted alternatively by the Lumby Air Force (LAF) and The Okanagan Soaring Association. (OSA)

The 2011 event is scheduled for Lumby. Randy Rauck plans to have an open house there that day:
- with Aerotow (HG) and Scooter Tow (both HG and PG) activities in the afternoon and a bonfire at the Flight Park.

==> UPDATE <==

We can promote this as a free introductory tow clinic for hang glider pilots after a high flight from Coopers or Saddle and spot landing at the Freedom Flight Park.

Since Glenn Derouin is going to be away, riding his motorcycle back from Florida that weekend:
We will need a PG Scooter Tow Instructor present as a launch director before I can tow the PGers safely: so put it out there on the forum and have them contact me. Randy@BeBOLD.com 250 307 7553

DONE - tnx Randy! cont...

When held in Lumby, dinner and drinks usually move to the Blue Ox Pub especially if we fly Coopers etc.

When held in Vernon, Pilots meet at the King Eddie LZ at 10 AM and then select the launch site for the day.
A follow up dinner is held at Uncle Dave's Pizza, half a Km north of Kalamalka Lake beach at #100 Kal Lake Road 250-558-4228
(In the Plaza on the west side of the road.)

- note new info in first post. (top of page.)

From Randy Rauck
We are thinking of having an open house here for Remembrance Day and offer some towing after the flying on the HUGE 330 WW Condor Super Trainer for those that may want to try her for fun weather permitting.

This will also be a free introductory tow clinic for hang glider pilots after a high flight from Coopers or Saddle and spot landing at the Freedom Flight Park.

Since Glenn Derouin is going to be away, riding his motorcycle back from Florida that weekend:
We will need a PG Scooter Tow Instructor present as a launch director before I can tow the PGers safely:
so put it out there on the forum and have them contact me. Randy@BeBOLD.com 250 307 7553

Big Fire and Anna's Pizza to follow or Blue Ox if bad weather.

From Randy Rauck <randy> Greetings

I just talked with Joe Pognowski and after checking the weather, we have decided that Saturday Nov 12th will be the day for the annual Remembrance Fly In and spot landing with Sunday being the back up if required.

Leo from the Lumby Air Force won the trophy last year so we will meet at the Freedom Flight Park in Lumby at 10 am sharp and decide which mountain to fly off. Coopers or Saddle.

If we end up with a stronger south wind forcast Vernon Mountain can still be an option. Hope to see you all here then. Dress warm.

We have a lot of wood for a BIG fire here for afterwards!

Please feel free to pass this info on to any flyer's and friends that may want to join in the flying or the celebration after.

Cheers. Randy Rauck, 250 307 7553 Lumby Air Force http://www.LumbyAirForce.com

One more thing: I won a large Texas Mickey at the Sicamous Hang Gliding Reunion.

I can't think of a better time to indulge in it than this remembrance event.

If you like vodka please bring your favorite mix and a mug Saturday!

Double Cheers Randy
